Minister of State for Information Farrukh Habib said in a statement on Twitter that “Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has tendered his resignation to the Prime Minister.”

All issues were settled in the meeting and the PML-Q expressed its confidence and support to the Prime Minister.

Shahbaz Gul had claimed in a statement released on the social networking site Twitter that he had claimed this major political development.
It may be recalled that the opposition parties had also filed a no-confidence motion in the Provincial Assembly against Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar after Prime Minister Imran Khan.
With the no-confidence motion, the recusal of the assembly session was submitted to Secretary Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti with the signatures of PML-N and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) members.
According to an official statement issued by the Secretary Punjab Assembly, the motion of no-confidence and recusal of the meeting was made by opposition members Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Samiullah Khan, Mian Naseer, Ramzan Siddique Bhatti besides Syed Hassan Murtaza and other members of the Assembly. The statement said that the no-confidence motion was signed by 127 members of the Assembly and submitted to Secretary Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti in his office.
The statement also said that the opposition had submitted a requisition of the meeting with the signatures of 120 members of the assembly.
Punjab Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti confirmed that no-confidence motion and recusal of assembly session has been received from the opposition.
